At Tony’s Mobile Car Detailing LLC, we specialize in professional paint correction. We bring specialized machine polishers, premium leveling compounds, and factory-trained techniques directly to your driveway to permanently remove defects and restore a flawless, mirror-like finish to your vehicle.

THE PROCESS: WHAT IS INCLUDED IN DETAIL

Achieving a flawless, mirror-like finish requires strict preparation. We do not just run a buffer over your car. Every paint correction package we offer includes a meticulous, multi-step restoration process to ensure maximum gloss and clear coat safety.

1. Heavy Chemical Decontamination

Before any polishing begins, we must strip the canvas. We perform a heavy foam wash to strip away old waxes and cheap sealants. Next, we treat the exterior with a specialized iron remover that chemically dissolves embedded brake dust, industrial fallout, and rail dust directly from the pores of your clear coat.

2. Mechanical Decontamination (Clay Bar)

Even after a chemical wash, microscopic contaminants remain bonded to the paint, making it feel rough to the touch. We use a professional-grade clay bar treatment to physically pull these remaining impurities out, leaving the surface as smooth as glass and perfectly prepped for polishing.

3. Precision Machine Polishing (The Correction)

This is the core of the restoration. Using professional dual-action polishers, we carefully level the damaged clear coat.

  • For Single-Stage: We use a specialized polishing pad and compound to eliminate light wash scratches and swirls in one fluid step.

  • For Multi-Stage: We first use an aggressive cutting compound to safely level out deep scratches. We then follow up with a secondary micro-polish to remove any compounding haze, refining the paint to a flawless, jewel-like finish.

4. Surgical IPA Panel Wipe-Down

Polishing compounds leave behind microscopic oils that can artificially hide remaining defects and prevent protective layers from bonding. We surgically wipe down every painted panel with an Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) solution to strip these oils and expose the true, bare clear coat.

5. Final Clear Coat Protection

Once corrected, your clear coat is completely bare and vulnerable to the elements. To finish the package, we lock in your newly restored paint with a high-quality paint sealant for short-term defense.

Frequently Asked Questions — Mobile Car Detailing in Worcester, MA

Everything you need to know before booking your first mobile detail with Tony's.

1.

Will paint correction remove all the scratches on my car?

It will remove the vast majority of surface defects (swirls, wash marring, holograms). However, if a scratch is deep enough that your fingernail catches in it, it has penetrated past the clear coat and into the base color. Paint correction cannot safely remove scratches that deep without repainting.

2.

Is this the same as buffing or waxing?

No. Traditional "buffing and waxing" often utilizes cheap glazes that temporarily hide scratches, only to wash away after a few weeks. Paint correction physically levels the clear coat to permanently remove the scratches.

3.

How long does a mobile detail take?

While a garage is highly preferred to keep the vehicle out of direct sunlight and airborne dust during the polishing process, we can perform single-stage enhancements in a shaded driveway or under a mobile canopy, weather permitting. (A closed garage is still mandatory if you are adding a Ceramic Coating).

5.

Does my new car need paint correction?

Surprisingly, yes. Most brand-new cars arrive from the dealership with transport damage, lot rot, and swirl marks from improper lot washing. We frequently perform paint correction on vehicles with fewer than 500 miles on the odometer to perfect the finish.

Our Single-Stage Paint Correction packages start at $300, while our Multi-Stage full restorations start at $550. Final pricing depends on the size of your vehicle (sedan vs. large SUV) and the current severity of the paint defects. We will provide an exact quote before any work begins.

7.

Will paint correction fix faded or oxidized paint?

Yes. Over time, UV rays and environmental fallout cause the top layer of your clear coat to oxidize, making the paint look dull, cloudy, or faded. Our compounding and polishing process safely removes this dead layer, restoring the deep color and factory shine of the vehicle.

8.

What happens if my clear coat is peeling or flaking off?

If your clear coat is actively peeling, bubbling, or flaking off the car, it has experienced "clear coat failure." Paint correction cannot fix this. Once the clear coat fails, the only solution is to have the affected panels sanded and repainted at a body shop.

9.

Can you perform paint correction on a leased vehicle?

Absolutely. In fact, many of our clients request a Single-Stage Paint Correction before returning their leased vehicle to the dealership. Removing the swirl marks and light scratches can help you avoid hefty "excess wear and tear" penalty fees at the end of your lease term.

10.

How do I prevent swirl marks from coming back after the service?

Swirl marks are almost exclusively caused by improper washing techniques. To keep your newly corrected paint flawless, you must never take the vehicle through an automated car wash with spinning brushes. We highly recommend using the two-bucket hand wash method with clean microfiber towels, or upgrading to a System X Ceramic Coating to add a permanent, scratch-resistant barrier.
